NGSD Earns High Scores on School Report Cards

NGSD Earns High Scores on School Report Cards
Posted on 11/17/2016
On November 17 at 8:00 a.m District and School Report Cards were released statewide on the Department of Public Instruction website.
Below are some highlights for New Glarus:
- The district overall had the 3rd highest district report card score in CESA 2 (76 districts in Dane/Green/Rock/Walworth Counties).  Our score was 80.9 (Exceeds Expectations).  The two districts that had higher scores were Middleton with 81.8 and Waunakee at 85.1.
- The elementary broke into the "Significantly Exceeds Expectations" category, which is a first for any school in our district.
- The high school was in the top 7% of high schools in the state.
- All schools and the district scored in the categories of "Exceeds Expectations" or "Significantly Exceeds Expectations".  It was the consistency of results across the district that resulted in the strong district-wide score.
If you look at the results of the report cards on-line, make sure to note that these report cards are not comparable to the ones from two years ago.  DPI is trying to make sure everyone understands that, but the report cards look similar so there will likely be confusion.  There were new tests as well as completely new calculations used for determining scores so please don't try to make comparisons to previous report cards.
