Open Enrollment
If you are interested in open enrolling your student(s) to the New Glarus School District, your first step is completing an open enrollment application through DPI.
The open enrollment application period for the 2026-27 school year is February 2 - April 30, 2026 at 4:00pm.
Alternative Open Enrollment applications for the 2025-26 school year are available until June 1, 2026.
Applications and information are available thru the Department of Instruction. Please visit the DPI Public School Open Enrollment page for application details and guidance.

We have upgraded our Skyward program for the new school year, from the SMS 2.0 version to their new Qmlative version. No need to change your login credentials! However, if you have previously used the Skyward mobile app, please make sure to delete and reload the app.
Then, follow these directions to add an updated account with the new version: Update Your Mobile App

If your high school student will need a parking pass, you will need their drivers license number and vehicle information;

If your middle or high school student will be participating in athletics, please see our Athletics page for guidance.

Please contact your child's building secretary to make an enrollment or registration appointment. They will be happy to assist you!

New Glarus School District provides school supplies to all grade levels 4K - 12; which are handed out to students on the first day of school. The only items that families need to purchase are personal items:

All Students:
- Backpack
- Gym Shoes for Phy Ed. Classes (ES / MS students leave these at school)

Elementary:
- Art Smock (old button down shirts / aprons work well for this)
If it is a hardship for your family to provide these items for your student(s), we can assist. Please reach out to your student(s)' building principal directly.
